Bayliss stays on top

Ducati dominated the second day of testing at Valencia with Troy Bayliss and Lorenzo Lanzi stealing the top two times of the day.

The Ducati riders were closely followed by the Honda duo of James Toseland and Karl Muggeridge all of whom were the only riders to try out Pirelli’s new qualifying tyres.

But even with Bayliss on race tyres and Toseland on qualifying rubber the Australian Ducati rider was almost a second faster.

Fastest no factory rider was Max Neukirchner on a Pedercini Ducati who finished just 0.1 seconds behind Muggeridge’s best lap on race tyres.

Meanwhile in Qatar Noriyuki Haga knocked over a second off his time to once again take the top spot.

He was followed by Yamaha team-mate Andrew Pitt, and the DFXX Honda pairing of Michel Fabrizio and Frankie Chili.
