Troy Bayliss has topped the first free practice session for the Brands Hatch round of the World Superbike championship with a time of 1:26.681, heading Troy Corser (1:27.091), and Britain’s James Toseland (1:27.291).

Ex British Superbike star Yukio Kagayama is fifth fastest, with wildcard rider Tommy Hill ninth fastest on his Virgin Mobile Yamaha R1. Chris Walker is 11th fastest for PSG-1 Kawasaki, with Craig Jones in 22nd on the Foggy Petronas.
