Australians Troy Corser and Chris Vermeulen have taken one race win apiece at the Monza round of the World Superbike Championship.

Race one saw the Alstare Corana team dominate, with the first two places going to Corser and team-mate Yukio Kagayama. The two factory Ducati Xerox bikes of James Toseland and Regis Laconi took third and fourth, with Toseland just pipped to the flag on a return to form after a dismal start to the season.

In MCN, out Wednesday, May 12, 2005, reigning champion James Toseland hits back at critics.

Chris Walker took eighth on the PSG-1 Kawasaki.

Race Two saw the first win this season for Chris Vermeulen and the Ten Kate Honda team, showing signs that teams are now able to match the pace of the Suzukis. Regis Laconi rode well to improve on his fourth place in the first race, by taking second in race two from Troy Corser.

Reigning champion James Toseland continued his return to form with a fifth place, while Chris Walker was consistant with a second eighth place.
