Yamaha and Ducati have been testing new parts at Brno, in the Czech Republic this week, ahead of next weekend’s round at Misano.

Yamaha tested a new gearbox, chassis settings and tyre developments.

Ducati’s Xerox team were there too. James Toseland and Regis Laconi did four days of testing, ending Thursday (June 16), while Yamaha’s Noriyuki Haga, Andrew Pitt, Broc Parkes and Kevin Curtain rode for two days, also ending on Thursday.

Ducati were tyre testing and trying new components on the 999 including a lower steering clamp and MotoGP derived brake calipers.

Toseland, who hadn’t ridden at Brno before crashed but was unhurt. Despite that, he said: “I’m quite please with the way the test went and the bike is working good. I feel sure that I could have knocked quite a bit off my best time without that crash.”

Toseland’s best time was 2m03.02, Laconi’s 2m03.4s – on race tyres. Pitt notched a 2:03.9 while Haga did a best of 2:04.
