Laconi takes provisional pole

Regis Laconi has taken provisional pole for the Monza round of the World Superbike championship on Sunday.

The Frenchman recorded a time of 1:48.701, putting him ahead of Pierfrancesco Chili, and Honda rider Chris Vermuelen. Laconi’s team-mate, James Toseland, has qualified in fourth, one second off pole.

Brit Chris Walker has qualified in 11th place, with Leon Haslam 14th.
