The second qualifying session has finished at Round 1 of World Superbikes in Valencia, with Neil Hodgson retaining the top spot.

Hodgson only managed to come in 0.210 seconds under his Friday best with a time of 1:35.142.

Ruben Xaus moved up one place from Friday with a best lap of 1:35.069. But the real surprise came when Troy Corser pushed his Foggy FP1 to 1:35.200, shooting up the table from 7th to 3rd at the end of the second qualifying session today.

Foggy team-mate James Haydon improved his time by 0.773 to jump up from 13th on Friday to a more respectable 9th.

Kawasaki ZX7RR rider Mauro Sanchini improved his time by nearly 0.5 seconds but it was only good enough to nudge him up to 14th place over-all.

David Garcia, 1:36.560, and Juan Bautista Borja, 1:36.847, filled the remaining two spots for this afternoon’s Superpole.
