999s test at Mugello

1 of 1

The Ducati World Superbike team has been testing at Mugello this week with test rider Lorenzo Lanzi.

The Italian rider spent two days on the 999s that Hodgson and Xaus will be racing at Sugo on Sunday, April 27, and shared the track with Ducati’s MotoGP team (see the link on the right).

It’s thought that engine parts were the main focus of the test.

Lanzi is tipped by Ducati as a star of the future and already has close links with the factory – especially with team boss Davide Tardozzi as they both come from the same town, Ravenna, in Italy.

He recently won the opening round of the European Superstock championship at Valencia before going on to win at Silverstone in the British National Superstock series on his first visit to the track.
