Provisional 2003 WSB calendar

1 of 1

The provisional calendar for the 2003 WSB championship has finally been released, and the biggest news is a new round at the amazing Sepang track in Malaysia as well as a new French round at Magny Cours.

It also seems the superbikes will not be returning to the much-criticised Lausitzring in Germany after the place went bust earlier this year and has still not found a buyer.

The championship may now return to the completely redeveloped Hockenheim track – although this has still to be confirmed. The full dates are:

March 9 Valencia, Spain

March 30 Phillip Island Australia

April 27 Sugo, Japan

May 4 Sepang, Malaysia

May 18 Monza, Italy

June 1 tba (Possibly Hockenheim), Germany

June 15 Silverstone, GB

June 22 Misano, San Marino

July 13 Laguna Seca, USA

July 27 Brands Hatch, GB

August 31 tba (Possibly Oschersleben), Germany

September 7 Assen, Netherlands

September 28 Imola, Italy

October 5 Magny-Cours

There is also one other round scheduled to take place on October 19, but a location has not been confirmed. All of these dates are only provisional and will not be confirmed until the FIM Congress in October.

Compared to the MotoGP calendar there are seven date clashes which may force changes later in the year. Any changes will be updated and put on www.motorcyclenews.com as soon as possible and also printed in MCN.
