John McGuinness’ illustrious road racing career will continue in 2025 after signing a new deal with Honda Racing UK.

Next year will be his 35th motorcycle racing campaign and McGuinness continues to be competitive at both the North West 200 and Isle of Man TT.

McGuinness made a welcome return to the podium at the NW200 this year, finishing third in the second Superstock race after an entertaining battle with James Hillier on the final lap. It was McGuinness’ first NW200 podium in 12 years.

At the TT McGuinness has made 108 race starts and has 23 wins to his name. This year McGuinness finished fifth in the Senior TT, sixth in the Superbike race and seventh in the Superstock event.

“There is nothing that makes me prouder than putting on my Honda top, riding for this team and representing the brand,” McGuinness said. “To be there in the thick of it contributing what I can to the team and having a good go of it myself, it honestly means the world. So to get the opportunity to continue doing that for another year, I couldn’t be happier.

“I rode hard this year and you could say we managed to capitalise on a few scenarios to stand back on the box again, but they don’t come in Christmas crackers and you have to earn them. It was amazing really, and very humbling to get such a reaction. I always knew I was capable of another podium but when it came it was so sweet. I’m just super proud and excited to get going with the testing and get stuck in come the season start.”

McGuinness will be joined once again in the roads team by Dean Harrison, who will also contest the Quattro Group British Supersport Championship onboard the team’s CBR600.

Harrisons secured podiums in the Superbike, Superstock and Supersport races in his first season with Honda, including third place in the Senior TT and Superbike TT.

“I am so excited to go again next year having learnt all of the lessons we learnt this year on the roads and the short circuits,” Harrison said. “I enjoy riding the CBR600RR so much so to continue in Supersport is really positive, we showed some really good pace on that bike so I want to continue building on that good form.

“I also get to work with the same crew as this year across all of my racing next season which helps a lot with consistency. You see how hard they work and it’s such a motivator for me. We have a year of development under our belt with all of the bikes and I am looking forward to getting on with the job and trying to win.

Today’s rider announcement from Honda Racing UK means that Nathan Harrison departs the team after two seasons.

“I would like to thank Nathan for his commitment to the team over the last two seasons,” Honda Racing UK Team Manager, Havier Beltran said. “Together we achieved his best-ever finish and average lap speed of the TT. I am confident that he has a bright future ahead of him, and I hope to be able to continue supporting him moving forward.”
