Roads: FHO Racing to make Isle of Man TT Sidecar debut with Founds and Walmsley

FHO Racing is expanding into Sidecar racing at this year’s Isle of Man TT after signing a deal with Peter Founds and Jevan Walmsley.

Faye Ho’s team will be sponsoring the duo, previously run under the Team Founds banner, and as a result the duo will run in the well-known turquoise and black colour scheme.

Founds and Walmsley currently lead the FSRA British F2 Championship, whilst Founds is a former TT podium finisher and F2 champion.

“It’s fantastic to have received the support from Faye and her FHO operation this year and it’s a pleasure to be able to run under the brand’s famous colours,” Founds said. “The return of the TT is such a big deal for everyone, and we all just can’t wait for it to begin.

“We’ve been running in the British F2 series this year because that’s the only place to really test your outfit and we’re also planning on dipping into a few of the BSB rounds over the year too.

“But obviously, the TT is our main thing. This is the main focus. Everything before the TT, all the races you do leading up to it, it’s all about getting ready for the TT. It’s such a big event for us and we want to deliver the best results we can.”

The FHO Racing team continues to expand rapidly. Peter Hickman and Ryan Vickers race for the team in the British Superbike Championship, with Alex Olsen and Jack Nixon contesting the Supertock class.

Ho is also helping multiple female riders in the paddock, including Charlotte Marcuzzo, Scarlett Robinson and Jamie Hanks-Elliot in the Junior Supersport class. British Talent Cup rider Holly Harris is also a part of the FHO Racing group.

The team also sponsor Todd Ellis and Emmanuelle Clement in the British and World Sidecar Championship, as well as IKR Junior Kart Championship racer Lizzy Mentier.

“At FHO we are always looking to support talent, whether that is younger riders, female riders and now sidecar riders too,” Ho said. “The Sidecar TT races are a huge part of TT fortnight, and they tend to attract a lot of attention, even from people who may not have been into sidecars previously.

“Anyone who watches or has any involvement with sidecar racing will be familiar with the Founds name and I felt Pete and Jevan were the perfect team to get involved with, get behind and support.

“They’re currently leading the British F2 series and are a hardworking, dedicated and very talented crew and I can think of nobody better to get behind. I am so excited about seeing the FHO name head down Bray Hill on three wheels as well as two this year and I wish Pete and Jevan the very best of luck.”

The 2022 TT gets underway with qualifying week on May 29. The Sidecar schedule is as follows:

May 29 – 16:30

May 29 – June 2 – 20:05

June 3 – 15:05

The Sidecar races are scheduled for 15:00 on June 4 and 11:30 on June 10.
