1 of 1

Alastair Seeley took a dominant victory to double up in the Supersport class at this year’s North West 200, clocking a new lap record on his way to his 12th Supersport win.

The EHA Racing Yamaha rider kept his cool in the early dogfight with a different rider crossing the line in the lead on each of the first three laps.

It was Dean Harrison who led at the end of the first 8.9 miles, but Seeley, Gary Johnson, Lee Johnston, Michael Dunlop and James Hillier were all in pursuit.

The JG Speedfit Kawasaki of Hillier hit the front for the first time on lap three, while Padgetts Racing’s Lee Johnston also took the lead in the first three laps of the race.

However, Seeley began to control things in the closing stages to stretch out a 5.5 second lead with a stunning lap of 4’33.864 on the last lap to clinch the lap record.

Hillier and Johnston completed a podium identical to Thursday night, while Dean Harrison and Michael Dunlop crossed the line fourth and fifth.

Martin Jessopp completed the top six ahead of Conor Cummins, while Gary Johnston, James Cowton and Dan Kneen rounded out the top ten. Ian Hutchinson finished 16th
