Roads: Suter to return to Isle of Man TT with MMX500

1 of 1

Suter will return to the Isle of Man TT this year with their MMX500 two-stroke machine.

The daring Swiss marque took the 580cc V4 two-stroke to the gruelling 37.73-mile mountain course in 2016 with Welsh ace Ian Lougher piloting the 195bhp, 129kg beast to 34th place in the Senior TT.

After a year away, 10-time TT winner Lougher will be back aboard the £100k Suter later this year after two years of development since their last TT attempt, which saw the MMX500 lap in excess of 125mph.

“It goes without saying, I am excited to be racing the Suter MMX500 again at the Isle of Man TT races,” Lougher said. “I feel that after all the ahrd work put in by the entire Suter team and myself, it’s very much unfinished business and I can’t wait to go testing.

“It’s two years since our last episode together, and the engineers say they have managed to squeeze even more power out of the engine and iron out all the niggly problems we encountered in 2016. I’m ready to go down Bray Hill and give the spectators that two-stroke experience again.”

Suter are also offering up Lougher’s TT-contending MMX500 for sale, bugs and all. The machine will be handed over to the buyer by the team and rider, with a VIP experience at the Isle of Man TT also available. Interested parties should contact suter500@suterracing.ch
