Roads: North One loses TT TV contract

1 of 1

North One Television has lost the rights to produce coverage of the Isle of Man TT for the first time in nine years.

The London-based firm began producing the TT’s TV coverage in 2009 with audience numbers significantly growing during their first five years.

However, the Isle of Man Examiner is today reporting that North One has been unsuccessful in a tender to continue producing the coverage for the period between 2018 and 2022, with the contract instead going to Greenlight TV – the firm from which North One took over in 2009.

While the news is yet to be confirmed, the Examiner reports that North One has informed staff that they had been unsuccessful in its tender for the production contract, but will retain the contract for distribution.

The change could result in a whole new presenter line-up for the 2018 TT, with the current roster which featured Craig Doyle, Steve Plater, Steve Parrish and Cameron Donald in 2017, hired by North One’s team.
