Roads: Baptism of fire for Martin at Tandragee

Guy Martin has had a baptism of fire on his first run out in anger on the Honda Racing Fireblade machine at today’s Tandragee 100, after a last corner collision with Paul Jordan left the Lincolnshire native on the deck but uninjured.

Martin and Jordan came together at came together at Marlacco hairpin on the first lap, taking the pair of them onto the grass at low speed.

Derek Shiels went on to win the opening superbike race of the day’s action by a whopping 14 seconds from William Dunlop on his first day out on the Mar-Train Yamaha, with Derek McGee rounding out the podium. Racing action continues at the Northern Irish race with another superbike duel scheduled for later in the day.
