Alastair Seeley shattered the existing lap record to take pole position for this week’s North West 200 Superstock races.

The Briggs Equipment BMW rider’s time of 4’24.240 (122.207mph) was enough to place him 1.984seconds ahead of fellow BMW man Michal Rutter.

After seven BMW’s led the way on Tuesday, Peter Hickman spoiled the party on the GBmoto Kawasaki this morning to place third, ahead of Tyco BMW man Ian Hutchinson.

Michael Dunlop will start fifth ahead of Lee Johnston with the second Kawasaki of Dean Harrison seventh.

James Hillier took eighth with William Dunlop and Gary Johnson rounding out the top ten.

The first superstock race is scheduled to get underway at 20:00 this evening, with the second set to be the fourth race of the day on Saturday.
