Farquhar back out of intensive care

Ryan Farquhar has left intensive care for the second time following his crash at this year’s North West 200.

The Dungannon rider crashed out of the opening Supertwins race and was collected by another rider as he fell; suffering a number of broken ribs and a lacerated liver which led to an internal bleed.

He was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast where he underwent emergency surgery before being placed in intensive care. He left ICU the week after, but was returned to the unit last weekend.

Now reported to be back on the ward, Farquhar’s condition is said to be ‘stable’ as he continues to recover.
