Michael Dunlop continued his domination on the final day of this year’s Southern 100 with victory in the Solo Championship and Senior races.

Having already taken two wins prior to the two final big bike races, Dunlop came in to Thursday’s action as a clear favourite.

The Hawk Racing rider took an impressive victory in the Solo Championship race – the biggest race of the meeting – to beat Dean Harrison by seven seconds with Ivan Lintin completing the podium ahead of the returning Dan Kneen.

It had looked as though the hat-trick of wins would be it for Dunlop after the abandonment of the day’s Senior race after a red flag, but an opening in the schedule saw the race re-run at the end of the day.

Cruising to his fourth victory of the week by some 19 seconds, Dunlop beat Ryan Kneen to the honours with Dan Hegarty also on the podium.

Seamus Elliot won the 125/400cc race while Ivan Lintin took his second victory of the week in the 650 Supertwins category. Tim Reeves and Patrick Farrance would also double up in the sidecars.
