Roads: Dunlop Brothers storms to Armoy domination

The Dunlop brothers of Michael and William have stormed to domination at the Armoy Road Races, taking two wins apiece at their local race. Michael took victory in both superbike races on the MD Racing BMW, while William picked up man of the meeting by adding two superbike podiums to double Supersport success.

Michael was unstoppable in the superbike class, romping home to victory by 1.6 seconds over Derek Shiels in the first race, before taking the gap t 4.5 in the headline Race of Legends. Brother William took third behind the Cookstown BE Racing Suzuki rider in both.

The opening Supersport battle was much closer fought, however, with William taking the win from Michael by only 0.007 after a frantic six-lap scrap. He had an easier run in the second race, however, coming through from fourth to take the eventual win by seven seconds as Michael sat out the race.

James Cowton took victory in the Supertwins class ahead of Michael Sweeney and Christian Elkin, while Elkin made it to the top step in the Moto3 class ahead of Sam Wilson and Paul Jordan.
