Hungarian rider Sandor Bitter will add a splash of international flavour to this year’s Cookstown 100, lining up for the second time at the Irish road racing season opening event next month.

Bitter will ride for another Cookstown veteran, fellow road racer Stephen Thompson, who will make his own road racing debut the same weekend on the Penz13.com BMW he will ride alongside Michael Rutter at the international meetings.

“I cannot wait to Cookstown as I still feel like a newcomer. The last time I raced there I was a newcomer and I was also on a new bike. It wasn’t the best of my performances, so I hope with new bike, a new team and some testing, I will be able to perform much better. The Cookstown people are very kind, and I look forward to meeting them again,”

The duo will make their racing debut over the Easter weekend at the traditional Bishopscourt and Kirkistown double header circuit meetings, before taking to track at Cookstown on the 25th April.
