Anstey tops first timed session of TT2015

Padgett’s Honda rider Bruce Anstey has topped the first timed practice session of TT 2015, finishing the evening’s session from John McGuinness by only seconds. A resurgent Ian Hutchinson, carrying on his strong North West 200 form, was third under beautiful sunshine.

Anstey was also the fastest of the supersport bikes, managing to jump onto both bikes in the extended session. He headed that session from Guy Martin, lapping on the Smiths Triumph for the first time, and Gary Johnson on the Mar-Train Yamaha.

Michael Dunlop, however, was nowhere to be seen on the time sheets, finishing a distant thirteenth after one lap on the Milwaukee Yamaha R1, while he only made Greba Castle on his own MD Racing Yamaha superstock bike before retiring.

In the sidecars, it was John Holden and Dan Sayle who laid down the pace on the chairs’ first outing, taking the fastest two laps from Dave Molyneux and the Birchall brothers. Reigning world champion Tim Reeves failed to complete a lap.
