Kneen in search of machinery after Millsport Suzuki plans fall through

Manxman Dan Kneen’s 2015 road racing plans are in ruins after the Ballymoney based Millsport Suzuki squad pulled the plug on their race plans last week.

The Ulster and Irish champion, who dominated racing in Ireland last season with John Burrows Cookstown backed BE Racing team, says he is “gutted” about what has happened.

“I thought that everything was in place for this season after the deal was done last November.” Kneen told MCN.

“Then I got an email last week saying everything was off and I am left with nothing now.”

It is a huge blow for the Manxman who believed that he was going to be Suzuki’s principal entrant on the roads this year following a brilliant 2014 season. Kneen dominated the Irish National scene before taking his first international win in the Superstock race at the Ulster Grand Prix last August. Fully recovered from a foot injury he sustained in a crash in the Supersport race just a few minutes after that win, the 27 year old is now engaged in a frantic search to acquire bikes in time for the start of the season.

“It is still early days and I have been speaking to a few teams today.” he explained.

“I want to do the three international road races again next year and I would like to be on good machinery.”

If anyone wants to contact Dan about machinery his email is kneenmachine@hotmail.com
