Bradley Smith in awe of TT

1 of 1

Bradley Smith, Britain’s most successful grand prix rider since Barry Sheen, got his first taste of the TT – with ex-TT racer and Manx man Richard ‘Milky’ Quayle.
Quaylegave Smith a guided tour of the 37.73 mile mountain circuit in a race official’s Jaguar.

Smith said: “It was unbelievable just to have that opportunity. It was really special to go round with Milky.

“You watch it on the TV, but you just don’t get a true impression of what they actually do.”

Despite being in awe of the TT riders’ skill, the 18-year-old Aprilia rider from Oxfordshire is adamant he will never race the TT.

“I was surprised by all of the blind corners and the undulation of the track and everything like that,” he said.

“I think these guys are amazing specialists, you have to grow up racing here, so I think I’ll stick with short circuits – I am doing alright at those at the moment.”
Smith was also gutted not to get to see any racing. He is only on the island for two days, but is soaking up the TT atmosphere.
