Donald out of Ulster GP

Cameron Donald has been ruled out of the Ulster Grand Prix. The team took the decision that he wouldn’t ride yesterday evening, which means only Bruce Anstey will fly the flag for the Relentless Suzuki team at Dundrod.

Donald injured his shoulder during practice for this year’s TT and has not raced since. The team had planned for Donald to race at Brands last weekend to get him back in the groove ready for this weekend’s high-speed racing on the world’s fastest road course but it was immediately apparent that all was not well with the Australian when he returned to the Uk recently.

Team boss Philip Neil said: Cameron is still not recovered . He found out at home two to three weeks ago that his shoulder was more serious than he first thought.

An MRI scan showed fractures to his humerous bone. He’s got good strength – that’s not an issue at all -but can’t get tucked in enough on the bike. He’s not in any pain either but he can’t crouch easily and cannot tuck in his left elbow at all. We decided late last night not to even try an ride.”
