Marquez: Honda negotiations 'going the right way'

1 of 1

Marc Marquez has admitted that not only is his plan to remain with the Repsol Honda squad for 2017, but that he believes that he is now close to putting pen to paper with the Japanese manufacturer after recent talks.

A loyal Honda employee, any talk of Marquez making a switch disappeared when Jorge Lorenzo signed for Ducati; a firm who admitted that they also had reached out to Marquez.

But, speaking in yesterday’s press conference at Le Mans, the double world champion sounded in his comments like he is now close to finalising a deal with Honda.

“We started talking in Austin, and everything more or less looks like it is going the correct way. I want to concentrate on the track, but we’re speaking.”
