Luthi takes pole as Lowes left struggling

Thomas Luthi has taken pole position for tomorrow’s Moto2 race at Le Mans by a whisker, topping the time sheets by 0.056 from Alex Rins. The German will now start tomrorow’s race as clear favourite, with the lap time combined with a fast race pace.

Rins was followed by a strong ride for Lorenzo Baldassarri, while Simone Corsi headed the second row from world champion Johann Zarco, unable to improve after a crash in the closing stages, and Franco Morbidelli.

Championship leader Sam Lowes was back in ninth, struggling all weekend for feeling and planning on major changes ahead of tomorrow morning’s warm-up, while Moto2 world champion Danny Kent was back in 21st.
