MotoGP: Twitter reacts to historic Crutchlow win

Britain’s Cal Crutchlow made history today as he became the first Brit to win a top flight Grand Prix race since the legendary Barry Sheene in 1981. 

A savvy tyre choice on the grid saw Crutchlow struggle in the initial stages of the race with his hard wet Michelin tyres failing to get heat in the left hand side, but as the race went on the rubber came in to its own, enabling Crutchlow to charge through the field to take the lead with seven laps to go. 

Only nine-time World Champion Valentino Rossi came close to stopping the Brit, but even the GOAT himself couldn’t bridge the gap Crutchlow had stretched out in the final stages of the race.
