Moto3: Antonelli tops opening day in Barcelona

Niccolo Antonelli has topped the opening day of action in the Moto3 class at Barcelona’s Montmelo circuit, finishing up nearly 0.3 clear after topping both of the day’s sessions.

The Italian was ahead of Spaniard Jorge Navarro, with championship leader Brad Binder only another 0.1 behind in third – although with traffic halting Antonelli’s fastest lap, it may be that he is capable of pushing the pace even faster.
