MotoGP: Amazon Prime reveals MotoGP Unlimited release date and trailer

Amazon Prime has released the trailer for its upcoming docuseries MotoGP Unlimited, which will go live on the streaming service on March 14.

The series is MotoGP’s answer to Drive to Survive, the highly successful Formula One series from Netflix. That docuseries has increased F1’s popularity and brought more fans to the sport thanks to its raw, behind the scenes access and interviews.

It’s hoped this new Amazon Prime show can do the same for MotoGP. The eight-episode series will cover the 2021 season, with each episode lasting 50 minutes. It’s not currently known whether all eight episodes will be available on launch day, or whether they will be released on a weekly basis.

The trailer gives a hint of what storylines the programme will cover, including:

  • Fabio Quartararo’s journey to becoming 2021 champion
  • Valentino Rossi’s retirement
  • Marc Marquez’s return from injury

It also looks like Jack Miller, Alex Rins, Joan Mir, Aleix Espargaro and Francesco Bagnaia will also have a large part to play in the series, which is developed by Spanish production company Media Pro.

Two premieres for MotoGP Unlimited take place this week. Tonight (February 16), members of the MotoGP paddock and media will be in Madrid. This is followed by a premier in Paris on Thursday evening (February 17).
