Nakagami’s 2021 livery is a much cleaner design, featuring an updated Idemitsu logo and company name as its focal sponsor. This year’s livery is redder than last year and features much more gold than before. The design also has the white of LCR and some black.

The Japanese rider had his best year yet in the premier class last season, finishing inside the top 10 in all but two of the 14 races. Nakagami also sealed his first pole position Teruel GP (Aragon 2), but sadly fell out of the lead on the opening lap.

Nakagami ended the season 10th overall, with a best result of fourth at Jerez 2 and Valencia 1, but was only 24 points behind Alex Rins in third spot.

The LCR rider became the primarily focus for HRC last year following the season-ending injury to Marc Marquez. Nakagami began to study Marquez’s data and adapt his riding style to try and match the results of the six-time MotoGP champion.

His plan appeared to work as Nakagami was fast throughout practice and qualifying and was one of the most consistent riders on the grid in what was a truly unpredictable season.

The 2021 MotoGP season, as it stands, will get underway at Qatar on March 28. The Losail International Circuit will also hold round two the following weekend and will be known as Grand Prix of Qatar.
