MotoGP: Reale Avintia Ducati launch new bike in style

1 of 2

The Reale Avintia Ducati team of Loris Baz and Hector Barbera have launched their 2017 colours – and new title sponsor Reale – in style, dropping in quite literally to Andorra’s ice racing circuit to show off the new colours.

Starting with the bike’s arrival by helicopter, Baz and stunt double Emilio Zamora (filling in for Barbera, sidelined by a broken collarbone) to take to the track with snow tyres on Ducati Panigales!

Outdoing last year’s ski resort launch where he rode into the event across a frozen slope, Baz says it’s great to see the team take such unique steps.

“The team goes further every year with the launch, last year I had the chance to ride on the snow with my Ducati, and this time the bike coming by helicopter was simply amazing. Also Emilio Zamora’s show on Hector’s leathers was really funny.

“The bike looks great with the new sponsors and I’m looking forward to ride it again next Friday at Qatar test and continue with the positive progress made during the winter test. I felt great from the first time I tried the bike and I think this year we will be able to fight for top ten results in many races.”

However, there was some bad news announced at the launch too, with Barbera confirming that he’ll sit out this week’s Qatar test thanks to the collarbone he broke practicing last week at the Valencia track.
