Moto3: Fenati takes last-gasp pole

1 of 1

Romano Fenati bagged his first pole position of the 2017 season with a last-gasp lap at Silverstone this afternoon, beating title rival Joan Mir to the top spot by 0.1seconds.

The Italian left it until the final moments of qualifying to put in his time of 2’12.846, stealing pole position of series leader Mir. Gabriel Rodrigo completes the front row just 0.087sec from the Spaniard.

It was a good session for John McPhee, who occupied third until Fenati’s lap knocked him off the front row but heading up row two on the outside of the grid is a strong position to be in ahead of tomorrow’s race.
