Moto2: Aegerter leads Marquez in FP1
Dominique Aegerter topped the pile as Moto2 practice got underway at Silverstone with the sun continuing to shine at the Northamptonshire track.
Aegerter’s time of 2’08.191, which came late in the session, placed him 0.172 seconds clear of his nearest challenger in the form of Estrella Galicia Marc VDS’s Alex Marquez.
Miguel Olivera, who led the session early doors, was third quickest for Red Bull KTM ahead of Forward’s Lorenzo Baldassari.

Championship leader Franco Morbidelli set the fifth quickest time ahead of Taka Nakagami with Simone Corsi seventh.
Tom Luthi, who moves up to MotoGP with the Marc VDS team next year, was eighth quickest ahead of Mattia Pasini while Isaac Vinales rounded out the top ten.
It was a strong opening session for wildcard Jake Dixon, with the British Superbike rider just 2.8 seconds off the pace and more crucially ahead of fellow Brit Tarran Mackenzie, who continues to make progress in the Moto2 category after his switch from British Supersport.
