Misano test for Lowes slowed by crash

Sam Lowes has had his progress at a private test at Misano yesterday halted after a crash in the afternoon left his Federal Oil Kalex machine with extensive damage.

However, despite the damage to the bike, the team were able to repair it by the end of the day, and Lowes, who walked away unscathed, says that the day’s outing was productive for the team.

“The crash was caused by a small mistake, but unfortunately the bike has been badly damaged; anyway it was a positive day because we have been fast and also in the last run after the crash, with the hard tyres, I set a good lap time.

“In the morning the feeling with the bike was not very good, but then we found a good direction: we worked well for the race to be held here in September, and now we head to Mugello with a lot of confidence.”

The test should set Lowes in good stead for the second Italian round of the series later this year, but he will also be looking to get his championship campaign back on track this weekend at Mugello.
