MotoGP: Silverstone confirm Day of Champions to go ahead

Silverstone, the host of the British Grand Prix in September, have confirmed that this year’s Day of Champions event will go ahead, despite the delay in getting tickets for the charity event on sale.

Coming after an upheaval with charity partner Riders for Health that has saw them shut down their UK operations – but former boss Andrea Coleman has reassured fans that the day will happen.

“There have been some delays in putting tickets on sale for the event but with the support of MotoGP and the Circuit of Wales we have been able to overcome the administrative difficulties of the past few months and the money raised will, once again, be using two wheels to save lives in Africa.”

Day of Champions is normally focused around the main event of the day, the charity auction, that sees all of the paddock’s top stars sell off a collection of unique memorabilia.
