Valentino Rossi’s first win 20-years on

Valentino Rossi started his ascent to his legendary status on this day, August 18 1996.

Where 20 years ago at the Czech GP in Brno, he took the first win of many in his colourful racing career aboard an AGV Aprilia RS125R.

Aged just 17 years and 184 days he would later go on to finish 9^th position overall that year before proceeding to dominate the 1997 season where he would win 11 of the 15 races to take his first world title.
