Miller: I was happy with about 90% of our race

Jack Miller finished outside the points at Aragon with the Australian finishing 19th after falling off the back of the scrap for the final points scoring positions in the closing stages of the race.

The LCR Honda rider said that a lack of grip from the front tyre was the cause of his problem and with excessive tyre wear having already taken the grip from his rear tyre he was left unable to challenge in the final five laps.

“I was happy with about 90% of our race,” said Miller. “It was really, really good all the way through until about five laps to go, then the front tyre gave way and it was too much as we were already struggling with the rear. After that I couldn’t hold the pace of the group anymore and I had to slow down otherwise I would have crashed.

“For most of the race I was pushing to close the gap on the brakes from what I was losing on the gas and it was working, unfortunately the tyre let us down at the end. We are happy as we stayed in that big group for a long period and gained a lot of experience, but we will just have to keep working hard on the set-up of the bike.”
