The 2016 MotoGP calendar has been released today with the FIM announcing that Indianapolis has been dropped from the calendar to be replaced by Austria.

The opening race of the season will once again take place under the floodlights of the Losail International Circuit on March 20. There will be a two week gap before the first back to back race of the year with Argentina taking place before the Grand Prix of the Americas at COTA.

Jerez is the first European round of the year on April 24 with the season getting into full swing. The British Grand Prix takes place on July 17 the week following the German Grand Prix.

The end of season flyaway races have also been adjusted with Malaysia followed by Japan and Australian. The year finishes on November 6 in Valencia.
