Lorenzo fastest at end of competitive day at Sepang

The second session of the day was a thriller with Jorge Lorenzo, Dani Pedrosa, Marc Marquez and Andrea Iannone all showing that they are ready to fight at the front this weekend. With Valentino Rossi eighth after abandoning his final run of the day the mountain facing the championship leader are clear to see.

Lorenzo and Pedrosa could barely be separated but with just over two tenths splitting the top four it’s clear just how competitive things could become this weekend. While Rossi didn’t set a fast time at the end his pace was good throughout the session and he looks to have the potential to be in the thick of things over the weekend.

Cal Cruthclow was fifth fastest with the LCR Honda rider showing plenty of confidence on the bike to outpace Aleix Espargaro and Andrea Dovizioso.
