Kent tops times in opening Sepang session

Danny Kent left it late to put his stamp on the opening Moto3 practice session of the weekend but on his final lap the championship leader gave himself half a second margin over the field in FP1. Jorge Navarro continued his impressive run of form to set the second fastest with long time pace setter, Efren Vazquez, third fastest.

Isaac Vinales and Jokub Kornfeil were also between Kent and his title rival, Miguel Oliveira. The Ajo rider is 40 points adrift of Kent and needs plenty of luck if he’s to win the title but starting the weekend three quarters of a second off the pace illustrates how difficult a task he could have on Sunday.
