Kent leaves it to the last corner but wins in Jerez

1 of 1

After two races of seeing Danny Kent race off into the distance today’s Moto3 race at Jerez offered a much more typical Moto3 fare with the Englishman having to fight all the way to take his third win of the year. The victory marks the first time since 1977 that a British rider has won three consecutive races.

A daring last lap by Kent saw him move from third to first but it was at the last corner that the race was won. Kent outbraked Miguel Oliviera into Lorenzo Corner but with Fabio Quartararo diving down the side and losing the rear the Frenchman almost crashed and took out the leading three riders. Quartararo stayed upright and rejoined to finish fourth with Brad Binder elevated to the podium.

John McPhee had a superb race to fight back from 25th on the grid to get into the battle for sixth before finishing tenth.
