Zarco leaves it late to top times

1 of 1

A last gasp lap from Johann Zarco saw the championship leader steal the top spot at the end of the opening day of practice at Assen. Zarco has been in great form of late and on his 24th lap of the afternoon he moved ahead of Simone Corsi on the timesheets.

Sam Lowes, who was fastest in the morning, ended the day third fastest and looking very competitive at a track that he fully expects to be able to challenge for a win at. The Speed Up rider was two tenths off the pace of Zarco but looks to have solid pace for the weekend.
