Marquez sets pace in warmup

Marc Marquez showed his potential for today’s Dutch TT by topping the times in morning warmup by over four tenths of a second from Valentino Rossi. Marquez has had the speed this weekend to contend for the win but the biggest question mark centres on whether or not he can be consistent enough to fight with Rossi for 26 laps.

Rossi and Cal Crutchlow were the only riders able to get within half a second of Rossi. Jorge Lorenzo has led every lap for the past four races but starting from eighth on the grid it’s hard to see him continuing that run of form. He has however been much more competitive on longer runs and his showing this morning illustrates that once again he’ll be in the fight for the win if he can have a good start.
