Kent dominates opening practice

1 of 2

Danny Kent was fastest in the opening practice at Sachsenring with the Leopard Racing rider setting the pace by over six tenths of a second ahead of Fabio Quartararo and Enea Bastianini. The championship leader has finished on the podium at every race this year except for Le Mans and his opening salvo showed that he’s in no mood to loosen his vice-like grip on the Moto3 class.

Only the top four were within a second of Kent with his teammate, Efren Vazquez, fourth. Romano Fenati was fifth despite a late crash. Brad Binder had a solid start to the weekend with the South African sixth fastest at the circuit where he finished second 12 months ago.

John McPhee was 23rd fastest.
