Sam Lowes fastest on day two in Jerez

British rider Sam Lowes has impressed again in the Moto2 world championship pre-season by topping the timesheets on the second day of testing in Jerez.
The Speed Up rider clocked a best time of 1.42.362 to finish ahead of Luis Salom by 0.122s in improved conditions after a cold and windy opening day yesterday (Tuesday).
Fifteen Kalex bikes were immediately behind Lowes, with Johann Zarco third fastest and reigning world champion Tito Rabat finishing fastest with a best time of 1.42.594.
Reigning Moto3 world champion and Rabat’s Marc VDS Racing teammate Alex Marquez was 12th fastest with a personal best time of 1.43.418 that left the Spaniard just over a second off the pace.
