Wet weather throws Silverstone odds into disarray

Rain on raceday could throw this weekend’s betting market at the British Grand Prix into disarray – and with pole man Marc Marquez on even money, it could be a good bet to look elsewhere.

Marquez has had fast pace all weekend, but with rain forecast it could instead be a smart strategy to look at Valentino Rossi at four to one. A proven wet weather expert, he also needs to stay ahead of teammate Jorge Lorenzo to keep his title chances alive.

And with Lorenzo notoriously fickle in the rain, it seems that at 6/4 he could be a risky move – unless, of course, the British weather turns its hand and ends up sunny, at which point his momentum over his Spanish rival Marquez could be all he needs to win.
