Lorenzo fastest and three Brits in Q2

Jorge Lorenzo was fastest in the all important FP3 session but the big news of the session was that the three British riders are all safely through to Q2 at Silverstone. Scott Redding has had a miserable year on the Marc VDS Honda but he’s been quick all weekend and ended the session fifth fastest just ahead of Bradley Smith with Cal Crutchlow eighth fastest.

The factory Suzuki’s of Aleix Espargaro and Maverick Vinales will both start in Q1 along with Danilo Petrucci. Eugene Laverty was 15th fastest and the leading Open class bike in what has been a competitive weekend for the Irishman.
