Kent's a man on a mission

1 of 1

A late crash took some of the shine off Danny Kent’s performance in opening practice in Indianapolis but the Leopard Racing rider’s half-a-second margin to the field saw him lay down a marker in FP1. Kent was almost six tenths faster than his team-mate, Efren Vazquez, with only seven riders within a second of the championship leader.

Fabio Quartararo and Romano Fenati joined Kent and others on the crash list for the session but with track conditions changing so much over the course of the day and into tomorrow many were biding their time.

Conditions at the track are expected to improve and times could be slashed by over two seconds as the riders build towards qualifying tomorrow. But this is just another indication of how relaxed and confident Kent is feeling and the fall should not effect his confidence.
