MotoGP Argentina: Marquez cruises to pole - ahead of a Suzuki!

1 of 1

Marc Marquez will star tomorrow’s Argentinian MotoGP race from pole position, after cruising to the spot with ease – over half a second clear. However, the real shock of the session was Aleix Espargaro, taking second place on the Suzuki ahead of the Ducati of Andrea Iannone.

It wasn’t a disaster for the Brits, either, with Cal Crutchlow in fourth – relegating Jorge Lorenzo to best Yamaha back in fifth, with Andrea Dovizioso completing the row.

Danilo Petrucci was an impressive seventh on the Pramac Ducati, ahead of Valentino Rossi and the second Suzuki of Maverick Vinales. Bradley Smith completed the top ten, just ahead of Scott Redding.

Eugene Laverty was also impressive, taking his open class Honda to fourteenth – ahead of Dani Pedrosa’s replacement Hiroshi Aoyama on the full factory Repsol bike.
