Jerez Moto2: Kallio eases to victory

Marc VDS rider Mika Kallio rode a perfect race to record his first Moto2 win of the season after starting from pole position.

The Fin got the holeshot and was untouchable until the chequered flag, finishing 2.434 seconds ahead of second place finisher Dominique Aegerter.

Moto2 rookie Jonas Folger finished third ahead of championship leader Esteve Rabat, two seconds further back.

Rounding out the top five was reigning Moto3 champion Maverick Vinales, who got the better of his team-mate Luis Salom.

Sam Lowes was running in 11th place battling with 2012 Moto3 champion Sandro Cortese when he crashed out with 18 laps remaining. The Lincolnshire rider remounted but again crashed out 10 laps later before retiring to the pits.
