Jerez Moto3: Qualifying king Miller on pole yet again

1 of 2

Qualifying king Jack Miller has made it three poles from four so far in the Moto3 class, starting tomorrow’s race at Jerez from P1 after a blisteringly fast lap set him 0.62 quicker than anyone else.

Second was a surprise result for Niccolo Antonelli, with the Italian scoring his highest ever grid position ahead of Alex Rins.

Isaac Vinales led the second row ahead of Alex Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia, who beat his VR46 teammate of Romano Fenati, back in 10th, after both riders had mechanical problems in the 40-minute session.

Efren Vazquez was seventh, ahead of Niki Ajo and John McPhee, the best Brit, with Ajo’s teammate Danny Kent in 13th.

Spanish wildcard racer Maria Herrera was also impressively fast, and will start tomorrow’s race from 16th on the grid at the track where she finished first and second in the opening two races of the Spanish CEV championship.

With temperatures topping thirty degrees, Miller says that the weather will be crucial tomorrow: “I think there’s going to be a lot of boiled tyres tomorrow, and conserving them is important. It’s going to physically demanding too, and I’m feeling pretty hot in the suit right now!”
